Why Policy

Socio-economic equality can only be realized through systemic change.

Public Policy
A permanent solution to poverty and inequality
Our Policy Image

At RightWalk Foundation, we view challenges like poverty and inequality not as insurmountable but as issues requiring root-cause solutions. Unlike efforts that address symptoms, we focus on transformative public policy as the key to leveling the socio-economic field. Governments, with their extensive resources and reach, are uniquely positioned to address these challenges comprehensively, ensuring lasting solutions that create a fair and equal society for everyone. We collaborate closely with governments in every state where we operate, focusing on enhancing the implementation of crucial policies.

By zeroing in on Education, Livelihoods, and Health, we’ve identified these pillars as essential in lifting millions of Indian households out of the cycle of generational poverty and inequality. Our mission is to unlock the potential within these sectors, fostering an environment where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

How we do it

Our Methodology

Select Influential Policy

Identify crucial policies, especially affirmative actions, with significant potential to establish an equitable playing field for all in education, livelihoods, and health

Collaborate with Government

Collaborate with the government and establish formal partnerships through agreements, setting up a Policy Management Unit (PMU) within government departments

Co-design Policy

Work together to design policies informed by thorough research and grassroots feedback, ensuring their potential for transformative change and smooth execution.

Build Systems and Processes

Develop a system within government frameworks, integrating infrastructure, processes, digital products, and accountability mechanisms, to serve as the essential foundation for effective policy implementation. The PMU integrates a robust monitoring and evaluation system to ensure transparency and accountability within the system.

Iterative Delivery

Ground Delivery Team (GDN) carries out the actual implementation of the policies, deploying our user-centric implementation design and project management expertise to translate plans into actionable results on the ground. By continuously refining processes and actively engaging the community and field-level public institutions, we enhance our ability to serve effectively.

Impact Assessment

Conduct thorough impact studies to evaluate the real-world effects of the policies, focusing on their benefits for children and young people. This step assesses whether the policies are meeting their intended goals and contributing to the desired socio-economic changes.
